We are Brick Factory De Rijswaard, for 125 years already!
On the banks of the River Meuse, Brick Factory De Rijswaard occupies a prominent position in the Dutch town of Aalst (Gelderland).
For more than a century – since 1900 – we have been producing high-quality bricks for both small and large construction projects. With an extensive collection of moulded bricks, hand-moulded bricks and special-shaped bricks, we offer a suitable solution for every façade and every design.
Our bricks retain their colour and dimensions, and are available in any desired quantity, including as brick slips and corner slips.
Our brick factory operates seven days a week. This enables us to maintain a high production capacity and make optimal use of the sustainable energy we generate ourselves.
Each year, no fewer than 130 million bricks leave our factory.

Showroom Rijswaard
Welcome to the showroom of De Rijswaard Brick Factory! A modern, bright space where you can explore our extensive collection of facade bricks, with a unique view of both the factory and the Maas River. Visits are by appointment only, allowing us to guide you personally and let you truly experience our products. What to expect: Wide selection: From traditional hand-molded bricks to modern and classic designs, admire our full range of colors and shapes. Unique location: Watch our bricks being produced while enjoying the stunning Maas landscape surrounding the factory. Thoughtful design: The showroom was recently renovated with a logical layout, cozy seating areas, and special display spots so you can view the bricks in natural daylight. A visit to our showroom is more than just a tour – it’s an experience where you can really see, feel, and appreciate our products.

Let it rain! Drivers load under cover, our bricks stay protected, and 7,140 solar panels on the roof boost sustainability. Rijswaard cuts CO₂ emissions and remains one of the most sustainable brick factories in the Netherlands!
From clay to brick
At De Rijswaard Brick Factory, we source our clay straight from the Neswaarden clay depot, right next to Esmeer Lake in Aalst. It’s a great example of how nature conservation and production can go hand in hand. Local clay, close to home Our bricks are made from local river clay. The depot is just a stone’s throw from the factory, on the shores of Esmeer Lake in Aalst, Gelderland. A touch of nature in every brick The clay is released during the creation of tidal basins as part of a nature development project. It is then transported—partly by boat—to our factory. Sustainable and local This process is sustainable: clay extraction helps shape the landscape while providing a local raw material for our ceramic products. Every brick carries a piece of nature with it.
Second unloading dock: more capacity, less CO₂
At De Rijswaard, we are actively expanding with the construction of a second unloading dock. This new addition boosts our logistics capacity, offers greater planning flexibility, and further strengthens our commitment to sustainability. With this dock, we enhance our key role in the construction supply chain, streamline the flow of goods, reduce CO₂ emissions, and deliver even more reliable service to our customers.
