Pleevi is an intelligent Energy Management System (EMS) designed to optimise large-scale EV charging environments such as workplace charging hubs, public parking facilities and bus depots. As electric fleets grow, these sites face increasing complexity due to limited grid capacity, volatile electricity prices, mixed AC and DC charging, on-site renewable energy production and strict operational requirements.
Pleevi addresses this challenge by using AI-based forecasting combined with real-time optimisation. The platform continuously coordinates EV chargers, stationary batteries, solar PV and building loads while taking into account electricity prices, grid constraints and driver departure times. This ensures vehicles are reliably charged and ready on time, without compromising driver experience or operational continuity.
Charging plans are generated up to 24 hours ahead and re-optimised every 15 minutes, allowing the system to adapt instantly to changes in weather, energy prices or fleet behaviour. By intelligently shifting charging to low-cost and low-carbon moments, Pleevi reduces energy costs, lowers peak demand and maximises the use of locally produced renewable energy.
Pleevi is built on research developed at VITO and EnergyVille and is designed as a vendor-agnostic, API-first platform that integrates seamlessly with existing charging management systems, building management systems and energy market platforms. The result is a scalable, future-proof solution that transforms complex EV charging sites into predictable, efficient and sustainable energy systems.
