Various measures are often used to mitigate and compensate for house sparrow infestations. These can include nest boxes and house sparrow enclosures. The roof structure has an additional vent for ventilation, so that the nest boxes become less warm in warm weather. This enclosure is mounted on a 6-meter-high, thick-walled, thermally galvanized metal pole. The welded footings at the base of the mast provide extra stability.
